Jasmyn Smith, Madison Simpson, Jenice Henson; 5th Grade Students, Columbia Borough School District Audience: Intermediate (4-6) Description: Participants will discuss the benefits of, and learn how to use Edmodo, the educational version of Facebook. Learn how to direct posts, create assignments and polls, and insert media such as pictures, movie files, and Youtube. Observe how to create multiple groups to foster threaded discussions by subject. Examine how students can respond to the teacher as well as to each other in a meaningful way. Discover how Edmodo could be used as a resourse for absent students and early finishers. Current fifth grade students will conduct guided live displays of Edmodo's uses!
