Discovery Education Streaming (DEstreaming) Overview

Check your school's policy on obtaining a number, use this website to request a medianet number:
Policy for posting and using DEstreaming materials.
You are free to download materials from the website. You can post them on a password protected site. If you are using the materials in a presentation (Keynote, iMovie, PowerPoint) you should site the resource. You may not post DEstreaming materials on a public site accessed without a password. You can, however, post the link if you are using one of the builders (assignment builder, quiz builder.)

A look at the new site
Search for a topic- notice the new Mouse Over Tool when the choices for your search appear.
Notice the clip selected above is also found in the student section and can be edited. A star rating has also been added to screen, you can see if this matches your curriculum standards and if you would like to save it to review later, you can "Add to My Content."
If you click on the video, you will get a new screen with a play window. Click on the Stream Type and Download Type to choose either QuickTime or Windows Media player.
Once you select the clip, it will show you all the segments associated with the full video. To stream the video for preview, click on the play button in the media window.
To download the video for later use, right click on the "film download" icon (Mac users- hold down the control key and click to bring up the second window.)
Make sure you do delete the part after the . (dot), either .mov or .asf. Save the movie as something you will remember in a location where you can find it.
