Session Title : Web 2.0 Built to Build

Presenter: Ryan Berardi - Conestoga Valley School District
Description: The internet has been given a face lift! The "look, but don't touch" version of the internet (now coined "web 1.0") has spawned a sidekick titled web 2.0 containing digital tools just waiting for engagement from your interactive boards, and the eager little fingers of students (as well as teachers!). Ryan Berardi, 4th grade teacher and self-proclaimed "tech nerd," will showcase over twenty web 2.0 applications broken into the categories of utility (do something more efficiently), content growth (help your students acquire knowledge), and productivity (create a product). Help your students communicate, collaborate, and experience the intrinsic value of learning as they embrace the 21st century skills provided in web 2.0! (Please bring a laptop if you have one available).

During this workshop, I focus on a few flipchart building tricks using ActivInspire that can be applied to any grade level/content area, demonstrate how to duplicate the trick or technique and show classroom examples that utilize the technique in a flipchart.

Description: Kristen will show some examples of how teachers and students are using Moodle in the classroom and for communication with parents. Attendees will learn some Moodle Tips and Tricks and some practical uses of Moodle for Elementary Teachers both as a teaching tool and as a communication tool with parents.
