Session Title: Safari Montage

In this hands-on workshop participants will learn how to use SAFARI (Student And Faculty Actively Retrieving Information) Montage as an effective resource in today’s 21st century classroom. Teachers will learn how to use digital content in relation to their curriculum. Attendees will learn how to create instructional playlists to boost the effectiveness of their lessons and the overall engagement of students. The trainer will model the use of SAFARI Montage and participants will practice with the application. A variety of uses for playlist will be discussed that apply best practices for implementing digital curriculum. Participants will create and share playlists with other participants that promote the 4C skills (communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking) of the 21st-century student.

This session will cover the content, features and tips for using CultureGrams at all grade levels, as well as ideas for incorporating it into the classroom curriculum. Learn how to use the colorful graphical search interface to locate information on over 208 countries throughout the world. Students will learn how to leverage statistical data, create custom data tables, use multi-media, and much more. There will be time for hands on activity and your questions will be answered by a CultureGrams training expert during this interactive session.
