These beacons can be programmed to provide information and / or interactivity for the end user. Some examples of this technology include self-guided tours and location targeting. This session will show teachers how to use computers and/or iPads to create digital text passages from various sources, and it will also show how those passages can then be digitally annotated and highlighted by students using close reading strategies for comprehension.

It will focus on the basics, such as teaching iPad rules, and move on to how to implement apps like Educreations and 30 Hands in meaningful ways that showcase students learning and directly relate to content. These tips are also helpful for teachers that are not 1:1, but would like to implement technology in small groups.

We will discuss the different features of the Google Maps Engine, how it can be utilized in the classroom, and share methods of classroom implementation.

In this session, we will take a look at maximizing free apps on iPads to support diverse learners and will share classroom management tips. We will also teach you how to use Google Forms on the iPad, which is an easy way to assess students and collect data.

It's a great way to track individualized student data, and encourage students' families to get involved in their child's progress in the classroom! This session will be an introduction to Class Dojo and all of it's great features as well as include reasons that it works SO well in the classroom.
Gathering quick and useful data can be a true challenge as an educator. Using technology for formative and summative assessments can make data more effective as we interpret it to drive our instruction. Programs such as Plickers, Socrative, and Kahoot can be used as vessels for effective and engaging data collection and interpretation.
