Sharing Student Creations with Adobe Spark

Adobe Spark is a family of three powerful creation tools for students and teachers that is compatible with both iPad and web browsers. Create vertical scrolling presentations with Spark Page, use Spark Video to compile video slideshows with audio narration, or add custom text on top of images with Spark Post. Each Adobe Spark app is incredibly easy to use and it's a snap to share student work online. Spark is great for any grade level or subject area. It's ideal for writing, storytelling, presentation creation, documentation, or basically anything else! Attend this session to learn everything you'll need to bring these amazing tools to your students' fingertips.



Pencil Me in for Google Drawings

Description:
At first glance, it can be easy to ignore Google Drawings as it seems rather simplistic and not very useful. However, it is actually a powerful image creator and editor. Add in the fact that you can collaborate on a drawing, and it’s too awesome to be ignored. This session will focus on many different ways to use Google Drawings in the classroom, from creating a timeline to an info-graphic or even using it to show work on a math problem. Google Drawings is a versatile and engaging tool for any classroom.

These tools look to make data collection easy, aid in differentiation and help to drive instruction. The tools that will be shared can be used by any type of digital learner and on many different platforms. This session will provide resources and methods of implementation. Presentation materials to take home will be provided.

According to research, Storytelling predates writing, with the earliest forms of storytelling usually oral combined with gestures and expressions. We encounter different forms of storytelling in everything we do, including education. It is an art we often take for granted. This session will focus on bringing this incredible form of communication into the digital age. We will discuss how we can allow students to show their comprehension while exploring the best web tools and apps for the future of storytelling.


Classroom Hacks: Boosting Efficiency with Technology

Teacher schedules can get extremely busy. However, technology can be used to take everyday practice and make them more efficient. In this session we will discuss easy parent contact with Remind, a program that allows you to text parents instantly without giving out your phone number. We will also look at the use of Google Forms as a quick and effective way for behavior management and check-in/check-out for restrooms and more. Google Forms can also be an alternative for quick quizzes and assessments. We will also take a quick overview of Google Classroom and how it can be used to put all documents and links you may need for your class as well as scheduling assignments.


Blogging Globally

In this presentation, you will learn how to connect your students globally through the use of blogging and also how to have your students collaboratively write using Google Docs.

This interactive session will introduce participants to three digital enhancement tools to be used within the classroom. Kaizena, No Red Ink and Actively Learn will be the focus for this session. Participants will be given time to actively engage in the application of each tool that is introduced.


EdCamp

Description:
Edcamps are organic, participant-driven professional learning experiences. Our EdCamp sessions will follow the 'unconference' format where the agenda is created by the attendees at the beginning of each session. There will be some themes to start the conversations, but anyone is welcome to initiate a discussion on a specific topic for any of our four sessions. Participants who attend can initiate topic discussions or participate in discussions that have been initiated by others. The format and schedule will be extremely flexible to meet the needs of the participants.
