Session Title : Web 2.0 Tools for the Elementary Classroom

Room: 104
Presenter: Libby Essig
Description: As educators, we are always doing “whatever it takes to ensure that struggling and advanced learners, students with varied cultural heritages, and children with different background experiences all grow as much as they possibly can each day, each week, and throughout the year.” (Carol Ann Tomlinson) Because students today are digital natives technology is second nature to them--they enjoy it and it motivates them in their learning. During Web 2.0 Tools for the Elementary Classroom, we will explore some examples of Web 2.0 tools that can be used for differentiation as well as others with which we can trigger thinking and increase writing skills, engage visual learners and actively engage students in the learning process individually and collaboratively.
